They are saying there's no better way to make real cash on the Internet than to write and sell your own e-books. You may have tinkered with this idea before and you may have actually started on a thing that you never really got around to finishing. A lot of people are on the same boat, writing and rewriting but never getting anything published, and it's not even because they don't have much to say. Usually, those who stop themselves lacking finishing their e-books are the ones who did not begin with a good plan. Planning an e-book is important because it keeps you grounded to the explanations why you were writing it in the to begin with. Most of all, planning gives you purpose for writing it. Unless you have this clearly stated out in your plan, there's a good chance you'll be eternally stuck at the beginning.
So what does a great e-book plan consist of? First of all, you need to know why you're writing the e-book. Will it's to earn money, to promote a product or simply to establish yourself as an e-book writer? There might be many reasons why you have come to the decision to write an e-book. The thing is for you to recognize those reasons and to write by them. Second, once you know why you're writing, you can go ahead and pick a topic to write on. It could be any, but the best topic is the one that you're most knowledgeable and interested about. Yes, you can invariably research on anything these days - that's partly why the Internet can there be. But remember that people always know the best ones when they spot them. And they also always know it whenever a writer is faking. Besides, it's easier to write about something you're genuinely interested in.
Not just because you understand what to write about doesn't mean you should go ahead and write at this time. Before you start typing, first, you ought to know the people to whom you address your writing. Are you thinking of writing about overcoming substance abuse? Will this be for teenage drug addicts or for those who have taken their addiction well beyond their youth? Obviously, it's different when you write for teenagers and for those in mid-life. Of course, how you write matters because how your e-book will be appreciated and will be based on the connection that happens between your work and the people who will be reading it. No or little connection means there is a mismatch somewhere and this is something you would always want to avoid.
And right before you commence writing the body of your work, do not forget to write your thesis statement. This is a separate article which will briefly discuss what your e-book is all about, what you think or how you feel about the topic or the subject you have chosen, why you think or feel about it in such a way, and how you think your opinion matters to the future prospect. In other words, your thesis statement is sort of of a summary and backbone of your e-book.
