Although some people find this to be the easier way out, there are certain drawbacks like the lack of quality control. Also many print on demand publishers do not have a strong enough distribution network if any and since the whole point of getting your book published is to see them at book stores and have them sell, this loss can greatly affect your chances of success.

Lastly, another avenue that is greatly picking up momentum these days is digital publishing. Many writers nowadays are opting to skip paper publishing altogether and go ahead with an e-book or electronic book instead. These e-books are created for the popular e-readers, computers and smart phones that so many people use nowadays. Some publishing companies who do regular conventional publishing have also started an electronic book division as well. When deciding on how to publish your book, make sure you consider all options, weigh their pros and cons and take the step you think will move your writing career in the direction you want it to go.
