If you are a business owner and you are considering a baler for your cardboard and plastic waste you really should consider the following points.

First of all you should really look at the size of baler most appropriate for your needs. Most company's will be looking at a small baler in order to keep outlay to a bare minimum. There are many baler companies to choose from and a good number of them have a very crucial disadvantage. Most small balers are too small. The opening width of most small balers is too narrow and the user has to fold up or flat-pack each box and piece of cardboard before it can go inside the baler. This takes ages and is very labour intensive. It actually makes a lot of undesirable hard work for the baler operator. There is a solution however. There is one small baler which has a much wider aperture and in reality makes improved bales into the bargain.

The best “small baler” on the market is a W40, sold by “Strong Recycling Balers Ltd”. You can find “Strong Recycling Balers” on any major search engine. They are based in the West Midlands and the balers are manufactured locally. The reason their baler is better is because the opening width is 730mm wide. The internal width on most small balers is 535mm to 600mm wide. The extra width on the W40 means most standard box sizes will fit easily into the baler without any need for flat-packing.

Actually, the W40 has several extra features which make it the best “small baler” on the market. Usually, the pressing plate on a small baler only comes down to just beneath the top of the bottom door. The cylinder/ ram on the W40, is the same size cylinder/ ram as used on the larger W70 model. This means the piston is longer and the Pressing platen actually travels deeper into the bottom of the baler. There are two main benefits for this. Because the plate comes down much further, the bales are more compact and you can make much larger bales than other small balers. The waste is compacted sooner and you can also alternate your waste materials much easier by making good dense bales earlier.

BRILLIANT FOR BALING PLASTIC SHRINK-WRAP
This W40 baler is really brilliant for baling plastic shrink-wrap and other clear plastic. No baler of this size and price can make plastic bales as good as this. The pressing plate on most balers, generally goes down to just below the top of the bottom door. The pressing plate on the W40 goes down much further to within about 8 inches of the bottom of the baler. This makes a better compaction of the plastic right from the start. Plastic has a memory, so when you press and then bring the pressing plate back up, the plastic will gradually rise back up. The W40 compacts the plastic deeper into the chamber.

Although you will use the baler on “auto”, for most of the time, there is an extra feature, where you can change the operation to manual and send the pressing plate down. It will then stay down until you turn the operating key to the “up” position. When the baler is getting full of plastic waste, you can manually operate the baler and leave the plate pressing down. It helps to break down the memory of the plastic.

This small W40 baler will make cardboard bales of 30kg to 60kg. It will easily make plastic bales of 60kg to 80kg.

The baler is very quiet and runs off a standard 13amp 220 volt power supply. It only draws a low electrical current when working and will not function with the door open, making it totally safe. There is a very intelligent relay system and the features ensure that there is no unnecessary stress on the motor or other parts. The superior system design ensures the baler will last for many years.

Strong Recycling Balers gives Free Delivery, Free 7 Day Trial, Free Training, Free 12 Month Warranty and Free Consumables/ Baler Twine. The baler twine is enough to make about 75 bales. The next time you buy some twine, you will be advised how to get 7,200ft for about £30 plus VAT. This amount of string will probably last you several years.

Although the W40 baler has a list of benefits over other balers, it is still the cheapest baler around and can be purchased or leased. Leasing can be very tax-efficient and it means you don’t need to use capital which you may need for something else later. The lease rental is really quite low and at the end of the 5 year term - you will own your baler.

If you have a Strong Recycling Baler, the company is very helpful. Before you have your baler installed, they will find a local collector who will frequently collect your bales, free of charge. Sometimes you can take your bales to a local waste merchant and receive a payment for it.

YOU MAY BE PAID UP TO £180 PER TON FOR YOUR PLASTIC BALES
If you have a lot of clear plastic such as shrink-wrap, Strong Recycling Balers have a method to help you get some cash back for your waste including collection. It really depends on your waste quality. If your plastic is a very clear shrink-wrap type material, then you may be paid up to £180 per ton, less a fair collection fee. This applies to most parts of the UK.

To recap: even if many balers will do the job you require, a large amount of them will make lots of additional work for your staff. Before you get yourself a baler which doesn’t suit your needs 100%, have a word with the Managing Director of Strong Recycling Balers. Telephone Freephone 0800 5677 384. The W40 is ideal for Cardboard and Plastic and you will surely be on to a winner!
